Made a trip to Ft Gibson low water area today for some very awesome ladies from National Wild Turkey Federation. They worked hard and kept the lines going even in rough conditions. Evelyn organized the trip and we did good. I went back to area I had scouted and Bob was there so it had to be good. It worked for awhile and they scattered we took a little break then went on to find more fish. Ended up finding about 200 fish in one big pile and it was done quickly. Filled all the tags and went thru the measurements on the fish and then went on to drop the hammer on nonstop white bass action. Cleaned 40 of those could have had a 100 if needed them. took a ton of photos lol. Call me if you’d like to book a trip and we will give it a shot.
I did a scouting trip to Oologah today and went up verdigris river to a few honey holes and got us into a spot that yielded the easiest snagging experience I’ve ever seen. I’ve been keeping an eye on it for years now and it’s consistent. And the catfish is usually on fire. Right now, could do a combo trip no problem for the right kind of people. There are a lot of fishing options out there. This is just one of them. The fish are not as fat as the ones in the lakes, but they are same length and just as strong or stronger. What I like about it is you can hit one every cast sometimes take 2 casts, but I hit 3 fish on one cast and hooked up good on the 3rd one. My buddy went to reel in to help and he hit one you basically couldn’t miss. So, there are a lot of good fishing opportunities right now for white bass, Oklahoma spoonbill and blue catfish. Call me for a guided trip. They were in about 6 to 12 ft of running water and undisturbed. In fact, we had eagles and birds beavers and flat head catfish in tree roots. It was a pretty wild day.
Another great day at Keystone the weather was awesome. I’ve got some new friends/customers that came to visit from Oklahoma City and we Had to go looking around for some fish but we found them and it was another day where fish were finicky and getting away. We had some variable winds again which makes me work harder drive me crazy last 2 days. And I had to find some fresh fish locations Which worked out good we get a lot of fish real fast then they would leave really fast and we’d have to move again but we was having some good times with it. So I had Tommy James and Mike today and these guys know how to catch some fish. I’ve got nothing but respect for these fellas. Call me and let’s go fishing I’m definitely on some catfish!
Made a short afternoon trip to Keystone Lake with Norman and Ivy for catfish this afternoon. We finished up a little early with 15 fish to clean and tossed one back so just an average keystone day in my opinion. I had a day like this back in mid December. In my opinion the fish and bait are scattering across expansive flat area and moving quickly the bait schools and fish would move away from the boat very fast for example. I did a lot more looking around today even after I dropped the customers just to keep a pulse on the lake. It’s all looking the same except for a few secrets lol.
