Fishing in the Rain! We had a good time on Skiatook lake yesterday, I seen a lot of friends out there and had 2 of them on the boat. We got on some action in 2 to 6ft of water. Mostly catfish and bass and broke line on a couple real large fish one of them got in a tree 🙁 we also landed the largest bass I’ve ever caught on skiatook. Dan was on board with that theory as well. We boated 14 fish and lost a couple big ones due to line failure. Dave’s boat did ok on some hybrid he sent me some photos. I’m afraid ours got away but going back for more today.

Get with me and let’s book some fishing trips! Check this out Fort Gibson report today we got Spoonbill, channel cat, blue cat, drum, turtle, carp, white bass. I was cruising to the fishing hole this morning and see massive piles of spoonbill which I couldn’t pass up there at the bridge. We started going through those pretty quickly and the current came on strong and changed things we got one last fish got them tagged and moved down to white bass, which was pretty much instant so we filled up a couple of boxes of fish today and decided to catfish. Made the first cast it never hit the ground made the second cast pretty much the same and it just went on and on with cut Shad until we had boated 23 catfish. 90 white bass and tagged 3 spoonbill.. The water is coming up right now the catfish like it along the backwashed banks about 3 to 6ft. The white bass is similar in running water on gravel bars which are now submerged. Target them about 8 to 10 feet. Spoonbill move around changes all the time. Early morning seems good. Cloudy rainy days seem good for sandbass but the bite is almost bulletproof any day. If they’re not running water and you go out there at noon you might have a little trouble getting them going.

My customers Rick and Charlie had an abundant day at Fort Gibson today fishing low water area. My first stop was too much current. I got everything prepped for fishing stronger water and we watched a couple of other guys catching some fish. Second stop we got right to work catching fish we got them going and they just stayed going that’s what we were wantin We had a lot of boats try to push into our area they couldn’t get anything going. I put out a bunch of catfish lines to help deter traffic and we were catching nice big catfish too. Whenever I left there was one of the guys that literally got out of his boat and was in the water where I was fishing. So funny.. While I was cleaning fish baited some sand bass eggs and caught a couple carp.. carp made excellent catfish bait they loved it. We did 105 sandbass 25 catfish.

Fort Gibson lake, Mazie Landing, low-water kind of day again. I’ve been there about every day and see a lot of changes every day whole bunch of bait and fish everywhere. I had Gift certificate customers that got a variety of fishing techniques and fish. We started off with spoonbill and it was good I could not pass that up. We moved on to targeting sandbass with Live Bait and the bite was pretty finicky mid day with no water flow and a ton of fishing pressure. We were doing OK with Bait for a while and then they would move away from the boat and I moved a couple of times with a similar result I don’t think we could keep enough bait in the water to hold them. We moved on to trolling lures which was working pretty good And I got to drive around and look at everything on sonar carefully while catching fish. Then we set up on an area and catfish were just hitting soon as we could put the bait.

Ft. Gibson the Sand bass fishing has been incredible. So they’ve had the water flow off a lot the last few trips, and the bite can vary a little but it’s always on. Everything is bottom oriented they want a really slow presentation if they’re being timid but if the sun comes out and they decide to get busy a faster presentation with a few stops can get the job done were using live bait. Today was 5 to 8 feet of water. I cleaned 123 fish and we threw back another 23. We had an incredible 4 pound sandbass, and an incredible 4 1/2 pound hybrid. We also had a lot of smaller fish it varies a little day to day. Good deal loving it.
