Fish On! Was finally warm enough to get out on the lake, I was able to launch out of Mannford, Large shad was readily available. There's no lack of shad this winter there is walls of it in fact about 8 miles of it solid I can't help but think that has to affect the fishing one way or another. We didn't catch much fishing under shad but did get a nice 12lb blue up by applachia bay, I did a lot of big leaps tons of fish on sonar everywhere. Keystone ramp also looked good for launching. I finally found a group of catfish on the last stop pulled one 14lb and several eaters to go with it so got er turned around I was starting to think the muddy water or something had them off. Fishing was best in 50ft of water or more. Water temps was 38 give or take a little on both numbers. Yep found them CPR today boxed 8 fish rather quickly and headed home I'm confident I could get clients hooked up with plenty on a full outing. I've got plenty of openings between now and the first of February. Let's go!
Fish On! Mark and Marlin come back today to check out sooner lake before the cold hits. We focused on blue cat and as usual we caught some on every stop. Earlier in the trip we had several slip the hook for some reason. I finally found a good group of them and we pulled a 20lb and a 26lb overall we got 13 of them. 4 hybrid a couple of white bass and maybe 15 white perch which were difficult today. None of it's been exactly easy but willing to work you're gonna get some nice fish. Live shad and fresh cut perch is the ticket. There has been a ton of people this last month that have caught their personal best on catfish including today. We caught fish from 82 feet to 55 feet with the 55 being the best. Water temperature on the west side of the lake was 39° compared to about 41° on the main lake. They started generating today so there could be a thermal change. I missed out on the big hybrid blowup on the way out seen it from parking lot. Sometimes that happens late in the day this time of year. Fish are roving around in pretty tight wadded schools right now. Don't be afraid to call and book one let's wait about a week to let the cold front pass.
Fish On! 1-7-24 Sooner Lake, Headed out for catfish again and we boated 15 of them said and done up to 14lbs, along with about 40 perch. Fishing wind blown banks 75 to 35ft of water. Everyone happy including me . We had to work for them but had a good time doing it. Thanks everyone for your support. Water temps varied on location 41.5 to 43degrees. I've got openings. If ya don't want to drive to Sooner we can go to Oologah.
Fish On! Sooner lake again today, thanks Donald for booking with my service and coming out to check out sooner. We started off for some hybrid stripers and that has been on the decline for a week now. It lasted about a week longer than last year. I'll be focusing on blue cat from now through March I've still got a couple of trips here at sooner but I'll also be on them at oologah and keystone. I'm still waiting for the water to clear up at Keystone for now.. We moved on to blue cats and we caught fish on every stop but it was slower than yesterday we brought up seven of them and the big fish was 38 pounds. Only 25 perch. Fishing live shad and cut white perch 65 to 71 foot of water. Check us out at fishonok.com
Fish On! Thanks Shane for booking with Fish On Guide Service! My customers today wanted to catch blue cats so we went straight to that boating a couple of 12 to 15 pound blues on the first try. Moved over to the next spot and caught another 14 fish including a massive beautiful 67 pound blue cat, and a nice 37 pound shortly afterwards. We won't be forgetting today! We also boxed about 70 white perch I lost count, Three or four white bass and a couple of hybrid. We're just dropping baits where we're fishing waiting on catfish so whatever comes along. Water temperature has come up to 43. and we're fishing water from 67 to 77 feet. Cut Perch. I'm on them pretty good if anybody wants to go just give me a shout!
