Fish On! Fishonok.com 8-7-24 Thanks Tino for coming back to check out Oologah Lake. We started on a cool morning with stout north wind checking a couple crappie hangouts. First stop bad second stop was ok. We decided to try catfish to get enough meat to feed everyone. That worked great. By comparison to keystone the blues at oologah are hungry probably because the bait fish are stronger and not quite as plentiful. We caught 19 for example in short amount of time and none of them were letting go of the hits and they just kept coming. 15ft. Pretty much filled cooler then went on to some sandbass and hybird striper fishing which they were pretty resistant to our offerings however we come up on a pile of them 5ft deep and a hundred foot long. Probably as many as I’ve ever seen in a group. Yeah We Caught 🙂 that was 25ft of water. Water temps dropped a little to 83. Very good outing once clouds rolled out and winds calmed down just perfect. Even got a big load of shad for catfish bait on the way out. I’m real pleased with the fishing on the big O and have some dates open just give me a shout is probably best way to handle that. Using minnow, cut shad, crank baits and A-rigs today. With the latter producing the most striped fish. Cleaned 25 crappie, 19 catfish, 12 white bass hybrid striper combo and released that many more.
