Sooner Lake

06-11-19: FISH ON:  Finally, Rick and I made a scout trip this morning to Sooner Lake looking for some Hybrids,  and it turned out pretty good. It started off  slow and then on about our 4th stop we found the Wipers. The Hybrid/Stripers were hiding in 65fow. And they were Hangry. They did not have real good size but they made up for it with attitude. We caught all of HYbrids on downlines about 4 cranks off of the bottom. All were caught on small live Shad. Water temp. is 75degs. See my Facebook page for pics.

06-07-19: I have now rescheduled my trips on Skiatook thru June 16th. Skiatook is now 16ft up. The corp is coming out with a plan on June 10th for scheduling plan releases to bring it back to normal(their guess is 30 days)It dosent need to be at normal level for the ramps to open back up. So I will reschedule a week at a time for Skiatook. Hybrids are now showing up on Sooner lake. So after this coming week (if Skiatook is still not open) I will either reschedule for Skiatook or we can go to Sooner lake.

05-25-19: Larry and I made another trip to Sooner to try to find some Hybrids. We didn't get skunked but we did smell it. We caught 1 Skinny Striper in the last 10 minutes. If I haven't contacted you yet about rescheduling your trip on Skiatook Lake for next week, I will be. Right now the corp says they will reevaluate Bt ramps on June 3rd. I am going to cancel one week at a time. My best guess is 2 to 3 weeks.

05-24-19: A very frustrating day for me. We canceled our trip this morning on Sooner Lake at the ramp, when it looked like the storms would be around for a couple hours. I decided to go check out Lake Carl Blackwell. It was as muddy as it gets. I did fish it for awhile with zero results. So I went back to Sooner to try it out. I fished for a couple hours with zero results. I'm going to try Sooner again Tmr with Larry to see if we can find some active feeders. If we can't, I will cancel my trips till we can get back on Skiatook.

We found a reel lee good group of HYbrids on our first stop and it stayed that way. Couldn't keep all of the poles in the water. Some of these were good size and some were on the small side. We got our five man limit pretty quick and decided to leave those Hybrid/Stripers biting and go look for some bigger Wipers. We found those on our second stop. Once that slowed down we went looking again and found some good ones again. Big Hybrid/Striper for the day was 7lbs with some more close behind. We caught most in 25fow water some came in 35fow. All came on downlines. We left the Hybrids biting after we had caught 58 for the morning. See my Facebook page for pics.
