Skiatook Lake Fishing Guides Report

04-27-17: Fish on, We had a pretty good day on Skiatook today. It was Bryson's 13th birthday and his mom let him skip school to go fishing. Sounded good to me. :). As it worked out Bryson did get to catch the big fish but mom had one close behind. We started out pullling planner boards with some success and then anchored up and threw out freelines with split shot, that worked also. We caught our limit of Hybrids along with some Small mouth and a few catfish. Big Hybrid/Striper was 5lbs. Most were caught in 12fow or less on live shad. Water temp. is 63degs. See my Facebook page for pics.

04-22-17: I did a trip for Larry Wine of Hook Line and Sinker today. It started out pretty slow with nothing but some decent Small mouth bass. We made a couple moves and finally started pecking away at the Hybrid/Stripers. We finally made another move and that seemd to be the right one. We ended up with a two man limit(but barely) of Hybrid/Stripers, plus 4 four Small mouth and four decent Blues. Most of the HYbrid/Stripers were caught on lines cast away from the boat or on planner boards. All were caught in less than 10fow. Water temp. was 62degs with a strong north wind and a major front just passing. See my Facebook page for pics.

04-15-17: I did two trips on Ft Gibson today. The morning trip was with Ron and Penny. They came from Nebraska for some Oklahoma Spoonbill/Paddlefish. We were doing ok till they started running a bunch of water and that really scattred the Spoonbill/Paddlefish. We did manage some though before the water came on. The biggest was 45lbs. The afternoon trip was with Jim and his son and was suppose to be a combo trip. We did start out trying for some Spoonbill/Paddlefish but that didn't work out very well with the water running so hard. So we switched over to Sandbass. They were alittle hard to find also but we did find about 40 reel nice ones. All of the Sandbass were caught on live shad and the Spoonbill/Paddlefish were caught speed trolling and trolling and jerking. Water temp. was 62degs. See my Facebook page for pics and video.
