Port O Conner Texas

09-23-18: Fish On. Our trip to POC started out the first day and half pretty slow. But yesterday afternoon we finally found some very nice Bull Reds. It started where it left off this morning and before the tides change we had boated 17 nice ones.The biggest was 33lbs with some more a pound or two less. We found them in 41fow. We caught them on mainly Mehanden and Mullet. All on downlines. Water temp. is 84degs. See my Facebook page for pics.

Lower Illionis River

09-15-18: Larry Mark and I went to the Lowere Illionis river today looking for some Stirpers. We found some. We tried something different by not using any Shad. We cast arificials and trolled some. We caught a pretty nice Stripers. Our biggest Striper was about 12lbs. Most were 2 to 6lbs. Water temp. at the mouth of the river was 78 degs. As we moved up to the bridges it came down to 63degs. Sooner Lake

09-14-18: We cancelled our trip on Skiatook today(because of slow fishing).So myself and couple friends went to Sooner Lake to see how it was. We ran all over the lake and only caught one Drum. We tried shallow water and deep water. We only saw one group of fish and they were not eating. Water temp. is 78degs.

Skiatook Lake

09-13-18: Very slow fishing on Skiatook lake today. We got a good early start and had a good weather day. We had a good overcast with some wind. We just couldnt get the HYbrid/Striper to cooperate. We ran all over the lake with only marking one good school of fish and they were not hungry. We did catch a real nice Small mouth. Water temp. is dropping,its down to 77degs. Sooner Lake

08-23-18: FISH ON!!!! Rick and I made a scout trip to Sooner Lake today looking for some hungry HYbrids. We found a bunch of Hangry Hybrids. It took two stopsd but when we found them it was almost none stop for alittle over three hours. When it was over we were almost out of bait and had boated 40 Hybrids. We caught them all on downlines in 48fow. All most all were on small live shad. They did not seem to want the bigger Shad. Water temp. is 78degs. All were between 2 to 3lbs. Skiatook Lake

08-22-18: We had such a bad  trip I have reshcudled the three trips for this this week. Not usre what was going on yesterday. It could of been the storms. The last time I had such a bad trip it was right after some storms. I was on the lake today testing my motor and marked alot of fish. But I did yesterday also. Today they were in 28fow. I did not fish for them. I am going to try Sooner lake to see if it is any better tomarrow.

08-21-18: We had a very slow day on Skiatook today fishing for Hybrid/Stripers. We did not catch a single Hybrid/Striper today. We ran all over the lake looking for some active feeders. All we ended up with was some Catfish. I tried about everything to catch some Hybrids.We marked plenty of fish in just about all depths. See my Facebook page for pics.

FISH ON !!! We had a good day today fishing on Skiatook Lake for HYbrid/Stripers. It was pretty much just the opposite of yesterday. We marked the same fish in the same locations except today they were hungry. We caught alot on cut bait and some on live bait. All but one was caught on downlines. All were in 44fow coming thru at 30ft. Water temp. is 81.5 degs. All were caught before 0930. We ended the day having boated 36Hybrids plus some Sandbass and a Catfish. Skiatook Lake

08-08-18. We had the slowestr day of the year on Skiatook Lake today. Not sure what was going on. We marked several good schools of fish and zero takers. I tried just about everything to get them to bite and no takers.Tried all depths, and saw fish in alot of places. We ended the day with 0 Hybrids and one little catfish. Skiatook Lake

08-07-18: We had a pretty good day fishing for Hybrid/Stripers on Skiatook. We had to move a few times but when we found them they were Hungry. We caught most in 42fow all were on live bait on downlines. Biggest was 5lbs. Most were 2 to 4 lbs.Water temp. is now 82degs. The wind kept changing on us and that messed us up some. 08-06-18: FISH ON!!!! We had another reel good day on Skiatook Fishng for HYbrid/Stripers. It took us a couple stops to find them but when we did they were Hangry. We found them in 42fow. We caught all but one on downlines. After that played outr we made a move and found them again in 42fow, but they wee coming thru at 30ft. Once we adjusted ut depth we started in again pulling the Hybrids over the side of the boat. They moved on after about a hour, so we back to the other spot where we had caught them. It started all over again in  42fow. all on downlines on live Shad.  Nothing very big today. biggest was about 4lbs. We ended the day haveing boat 34 HYbrids plus some Sandbass and Catfish. 07-27-18: FISH ON!!! Another reel good day on Skiatook fishing for Hybrid/Stripers. We made three stops and caught fish on all of them. The Hybrids were very hungry today. It didnt seem to matter what we put down for bait they would eat it. We ended up using the chum I took for bait when we ran out of live bait. Nothing very big. Most were two to three lbs with alot of attitude. We caught all Hybrids on downlines in 36 to 43fow. Some on live shad and some on dead whole shad and some on cut bait. Big Hybrid was about 5lbs. 07-24-18: FISH ON!!!!. What a great morning of catching Hybrids on Skiatook lake with a great family.  We found them on our first stop along with some Sandbass in 38fow. After that slowed down we made a move and found the Hybrids this time in 42 fow. No Sandbbass on that stop just Hangry Hybrids. Once that slowed down we made one more move and ran out of bait there(48 Hybrids). We found these in 39fow coming thru at 30ft. Big Hybrid for the day was about 5lbs. Alot of 3 to 4lbers. Skiatook Lake

07-18-18: FISH ON; We had a great day fishng for Hybrids on Skiatook Lake. Poles started going down beofre I got them all out and it pretty much stayed that way all morning. We couldnt keep up with them all. The first stop produced alot of Sandbass along with some nice hybrids. We decided to make a move to get away from the Sandbass. We found some reel nice HYbrids and it started all over again. When that died off we made another move and we doubled our count on that spot in a little over a hour.  We had a perfect day for fishing today. We had a good overcast sky and a little wind. We ended the morning have boated 62 Hybrids and 25 Sandbass. We caught them all on downlines. Some on dead shad and some on live Shad. We were in 32 to 42 fow. See my Facebook page for pics.

lake Oologah

07-14-18: I did a three boat trip today with John Bacon, and Dusty Singer for Channel 6 news on Oologah lake. We were fishing for Sandbass. We started out slabbing for them in about 33fow. There were plenty of fish there just a few takers. We moved around a few more times but didnt have much luck with the slabs. So we started trolling with some small crank baits and that seemed to work ok. All three boats ended up with quite a few Sandbass but most were on the small side. Water temp. is 87degs. We were trolling in about 15fow.

07-11-18: We had  a pretty slow day today. We managed to catch our limit but not by much. Not sure what was going on other than absolutly no wind and it being very very hot.  We found some nice Hybrids on our first stop and after that we only caught a few more. We ran over most of the lake and fished at a few other spots but nothing was willing. So we ended up back where we started. And we caught a few more there. The Hybrids we caught were in 39fow coming thru at 30ft. All were caught on downlines and all on live Shad. 4lbs was the biggest. See my Facebook page for pic.

07-09-18:FISH ON!!!!  We had a great time on Skiatook today fishing for Hybrid/Stripers. We caught a few on our first stop. But then they moved pretty quick. Our second stop did not produce anything. but the third stop was the spot. We found them in 39fow. All they wanted was live Shad on downlines. Nothing very big again. Most were 2 to 5lbs. 07-08-18: FISH ON!!! Another reel good day fishing for HYbrid/Stripers on Skiatook Lake. The Hybrids are really on the move. We would find a few and then they would be gone. About the third stop the Hybrids stayed still for awhile. We caught a bunch there and when that slowed down we made one more and it was all poles down for awhile til we ran out of bait.. We didnt catch any big ones they were all around 2 to 4lbs. All were caught on downlines in 38 to 42 fow. Most were coming thru at 30ft. Water temp. is 86degs. See my Facebook page for pics.

07-07-18: Fish On!!!. It started off about as slow as it has been for a long time. After three hours we only had 6 Hybrids in the boat. They were really on the move. We just couldnt get on a good school of Hybrids. We were moving around alot trying to find a good school. We finally found it, and it was non stop til we ran out of bait. Nothing real big just alot of Hangry ones.  We finally found the active ones in 36fow but they were coming thru at 30ft. We caught all but one on downlines. All were caught on live shad. 07-06-18: FISH ON: Another reel lee good morning on Skiatook Lake fishing for Hybrids.It started off a little slow with us just catching a few on our first stop(32fow). But then we made a move and found some good active feeders(32fow). Once that slowed down we made another move this time we found them in 38fow. They were coming thru at 30ft. It was all poles down for awhile then they slowly moved on. But by then we were out of live bait. We went ahead and caught a few more on whole dead bait. When that ran out we called it a morning. All were caught on downlines most on live shad. We were in 32 to 38fow. Water temp.is raising it is at 86degs. Big Hybrid was 5lbs. See my Facebook page for pics.
