Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Jul 19, 08

A mixed bag day. We caught 15 fish but they were not all what we we were looking for. We did catch some Hybrids, but we also caught some sandbass and catfish also. We found plenty of fish but getting them to bite was a different story. The biggest Hybrid was about 4lbs, and the biggest catfish was about 5lbs.  The fish we caught were in 25ft of water and the water temp. is still 82deg. We caught them on downlines and freelines. It was a beautiful morning to be on the lake, and to enjoy it with a dad and his sons.

FISH ON!!     !What a great couple of days. Fished with my Dad, brother and nephews for a couple of days and had a real good time.  And we were lucky enough to catch some fish. Friday afternoon we caught 25 fish with biggest majorty being some decent Hybrids. Sat Morning we caught 10, with some of them being catfish and Sandbass. But we had some decent Hybrids also. We caught fish on downlines, freelines and cut bait. I did do quite a bit of chumming, but torwards the end of the day it didn't seem to mater. We caught most of ours on Friday from 6:30pm till 8:30pm. We were in 22 to 25ft of water and the temp is 82deg.

For the third time in less than a month my customers canceled after I got to the lake. So, with a full tank of fresh shad and the afternoon off again :), I went fishing. It was not fast and furious but I did manage some nice fish. The biggest was about 5 lbs. I fished in 22ft of water and the temp. is 83deg. Most fish came on freelines with split shot, using cut bait. The water is still falling and murky.

Very Slow day of catching. Just when I thought I had them figured out they weren't where they were suppose to be. We ended up with 10 fish with only a few of them being Hybrids. We marked a lot of fish we just couldn't get them to eat. We had several pull downs and then when we set the hook nothing was there. The ones we caught were mixed on freelines and downlines and a couple on cut bait.. We were in 24ft of wter and the temp is 82deg. The lake is still falling quite a bit, and still murky. It was real nice to be out with a repeat customer and family, who enjoys fishing and could of used a little more catching:-)

FISH ON!!!! Had a really good day of fishing and catching. Went fishing with a good friend and had a good time. It was not real fast action but just pretty steady.  The Hybrids were the biggest we had caught all year. The big ones are starting to get active.  Almost all were 4 to 6 lbs. We had a couple that were a little bit bigger and a few smaller. We  started out  catching them on downlines and then they switched to freelines with split shot. They were biting kinda timid, but once they were on, they knew they were caught and the fun was on. We fished 4 hours and ended up with about  25 fish with about 15 or so being nice Hybrids.  Most of the day we were in 23 ft of water, and the temp. is 82deg. And it was very humid with no wind.

Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Jul 01, 08

FISH ON!!    Steve Carroll and I thought we had a two boat trip today. But when Steve was on the way to the lake they called and canceled.  Steve called me and I was just about ready to leave for the lake. So, what do two guides do with a bait tank full of bait and the afternoon off? We put the shad to good use. It was a beautiful afternoon and the fish were biting. It was not fast and furious but it was just good and steady. We fished about three hours and caught about 15 to 20 fish. The biggest was 6lbs and the smallest was about 3lbs. They were all good and healthy. Most were caught on downlines in 15 to 25ft of water and the water temp. is 81deg.
