Fishing ReportsJulySooner and Skiatook Lakes Oklahoma - Jul 31, 07 Pretty good day. My favorite fishing partner(my son) and I went fishing today. We went to Sooner first and fished Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Jul 29, 07Very Slow. Fished hard for 3 hours and only caught a couple of fish. They had moved from where they had Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Jul 27, 07FISH ON!!! Caught about 30 fish in 3 hours. It was almost constant action from the time we started. All but a Carl Blackwell Lake Oklahoma - Jul 26, 07A little slow. We ended up with 16 fish but some of them were catfish. Our biggest fish was a 7 lb Hybrid. Carl Blackwell Lake Oklahoma - Jul 21, 07 FISH ON!!!! Caught 40 to 50 fish today with good friend Steve Carroll. We caught several 7 to 8 lb fish, with the Carl Blackwell Lake Oklahoma - Jul 17, 07A little bitter. We changed lakes and finally found some active feeders. We caught 15 fish with the biggest Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Jul 15, 07 Another very tuff day of fishing. Fished hard for at least six hours and only caught 5 fish. The biggest Hybrid was Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Jul 14, 07Very tuff fishing. Fished Thursday morning and got ran off by the stroms. We had caught three fish in about a hour of fishing, and then the storms came in and the customers called it quits. The 14th I had a three hour trip and a six hour trip and we caught a total of 4 fish between both trips. I started downrigging and that is how we caught three of the 4 fish. The thermocline is really rising on the lake. Its very difficult to keep the bait alive once it gets in the lake. Anything below 15 to 20 ft and the bait is dead is a matter of a few minutes. The water has came up about a foot since last weekend. The water temp. is about 84deg. But that depends on what part of the lake you are on. No pics because no decent fish to show. Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Jul 08, 07Could of been a little better but it could of been a lot worse. It started out very slow and we had only caught 3 fish in the first 3 hours. I kept moving around till we finally found some active feeders. By the time we quite we had 19 decent Hybrids in the boat and we missed several more. We were just about ready to put the downriggers out and start trolling when we found the big school. They were in about 40ft of water and really on the move. We did pull anchor and slow troll till we found them again and put out the anchor and pretty much stayed on them then, till about quitting time. They seemed to really want just a plane free line with no weight. We did catch a few on downlines, but most came on the freelines. The water temp. was 84 deg. And it appears the lake has stablized for now at about 6ft above normal. Archive
