Skiatook - May 30, 06

Great Day.  It started out alittle slow but then we changed locations and IM000472.jpgthings picked up . Our largest was about 6 lbs. Caught several real nice fish. Most fish were in 30 to 40 ft. All were on downlines. Water temp was 84.

Skiatook -5-21 - May 21, 06

The big ones are back. We stared out catching some small ones and some IM000471.jpgsandbass. Went to a different spot on the lake and found some really nice fish. The problem was we were getting close to running out of bait. The bigger fish did not seem to care about the size of the baits. We caught 10 to 15 very nice Hybrids in about 1 hr. I ended up cleaning 35 fish of which most were hybrids. It seems the sandbass have taken over the other spot. Our biggest fish was about 6 lbs. but we had several in the 4 to 5 range. These fish were in 30 to 40 ft, all on downlines. We went thru the 100 baits cleaned fish and went home. It was a very nice day to be on the water with a entire family that enjoyed each other and enjoyed fishing with some competion.

Boy was it H O T. The fishing and the weather. It stared out and we IM000469.jpgcouldn't hardly keep our lines in the water. But by 8:30 am it started to slow down. We ended up with our limit of nice Hybrids and some very nice sandbass. They still seemed to want the smaller baits and still in the 20 to 30 ft. All were caught on downlines. We didn't quite use all 100 baits but came very close. It was a very good day. Especially for a father and son to be competeing againest each other.

FISH ON

Started fishing about 1:30 pm and had went thru 100 baits by 3:30. I IM000468.jpgam not sure how many we caught but it was a bunch. I cleaned 14 nice Hybrids and we let the rest go to fight another day. We stayed one shy of our limit trying for the big one They are still in 20 to 30 ft and all were caught on downlines. The size were on the small side with the largest being about five lbs. Overall it was a good fishing and catching trip..

IM000467.jpgIt was a great day to be fishing and Catching. It started out kind of slow, but things really picked up after a couple of hours. We ended up with 39 real nice fish. About 30 Hybrids and the rest were Sandbass. The biggest Hybrid was again 6 1/2.. These clients were in Tulsa for a convention and ducked out for the afternoon. They appeared to really enjoy Oklahoma fishing.  The water temp is starting to heat back up again, it was about 72. We were catching the fish in 20 to 30 feet on downlines with small shad. It was a very good day to be fishing and Catching..

Skiatook - May 13, 06

IM000464.jpgIt was another good day on beautiful lake Skiatook. We were suppose to be out for only 3 hours but it turned into a little longer outing. It started out very slow, with only a few small sandbass. We looked around on the lake quite a bit untill we finally found some nice Hybrids. Once we found them and they decided to bite, the fun was on. At one time we had five on at once. We ended up with  20 nice fish. The biggest was about 5 lbs. Seven year old Mitchel not only caught some real nice fish but he also helped to keep the hooks baited. The water temp was 67 and they were still in the 20 to 30 ft. of water. Most were caught on downlines a couple of cranks off of the bottom.  It was a very nice day to be fishing and Catching.

YEE   HAW   What a afternoon on beautiful lake Skiatook. We started fishing about   2pm and it was non stop till we decided to quit. We figured we caught somewhere around 45 fish.   35 were nice Hybrids. We had a few nice Sandbass mixed in. The biggest Hybrid was 6 lbs. Most were in the 3 to 4 lb range. We were fishing downlines in 20 to 30 ft of water. I IM000460.jpgforgot to notice what the water temp was. But whatever it was, it was just right. (Somewhere around 70 deg. I think) They still seem to want the smaller shad, and they seemed to really like the thread fin. The young man that was with us couldn't stop grinning all afternoon. Ben did a excellant job of watching the tip of the rod to see the slightest bit of a bite It was a great day to be fishing and CATCHING.
